![]() A New course from Vitality + especially for Mum's to be. This series of 3 workshops covers natural approaches to pregnancy, birth and early babycare. The course provides advice on natural remedies, nutrition and posture for an easier pregnancy, together with some relaxation techniques to help with birth. Week 1: Pregnancy Thur. 13th May 7.00 p.m. What natural remedies can I take to help with pregnancy? What remedies are safe to take and what should I be avoiding? What foods should I be eating to help me and baby? Should I be taking supplements? Are there foods I should be avoiding? The workshop will include input from our herbalist, homeopath and nutritional therapist and the chance to make your own anti-stretch cream. Week 2: Birth Thur. 20th May 7.00 p.m. What natural remedies can I take to prepare for birth? What natural remedies can I take during labour? What simple exercises and postures can I use for an easier birth? What Relaxation techniques can I use for an easier birth? The workshop will include input from our herbalist, chiropractor and psychotherapist/ hypnobirthing expert. You will also get the chance to make your own herbal tea or stress roller for labour. Week 3: Baby Thurs. 27th May 7.00 p.m. What natural remedies are available for common baby problems, e.g. colic? What is safe to use with new borns and how do I use them? Are there any remedies to improve breast feeding? What foods should I be eating or avoiding? How can I avoid back problems from carrying a baby around? What exercises can I be doing? The workshop will include input from our herbalist, nutritional therapist and chiropractor. You will also get the chance to make a simple nappy rash cream. All workshops are two hours. ![]() Dawn Howorth, one of our Psychotherapists will be delivering her highly successful Hypnobirthing course at Vitality + starting in April and run over 5 weeks. The Mongan method of HypnoBirthing is a philosophy and technique for achieving a satisfying, relaxing and stress-free birthing. HypnoBirthing teaches you, along with your birthing companion, the art and joy of experiencing birth in a more comfortable manner. Both the mother and birthing companion attend group antenatal classes once a week for 5 weeks. Each session is 2½ hours.
